This section provides an example of how to insert a 3D object into a design. The use of the insert point is also explained.
Inserting 3D objects
The DWG file stored locally is imported into the current plan (still empty) by using the Object button in the Object group, Insert tab. It is also possible to use the Import entry in the Application menu to access the 3D object.

|
1.After import, for example of the desk unit visible in the picture on the left, the object will be attached to the cursor and it can be moved to any position in the viewport either by using the keyboard or a mouse click. 2.Once its position has been set, the rotation can also be set using the mouse or the keyboard. |
Using insert points

|
In the case of DWG objects it is possible to choose between different insert points when the insertion is taking place, as long as insert points have been set in the DWG.
The mouse cursor will then "grab" the object at this point, making positioning easier.
The left-hand picture shows a table with eight insert points in all. Either using the context menu or pressing the y and x keys enables you to change insert points.

Setting insert points
In pCon.planner PRO, you can define one further insert point per object, which can then be selected during the insert procedure, in addition to the ones already available. The Insert Point tool is in the Tools group, Edit tab.
