Measurements in pCon.planner are automatically based on the current Insert Unit. If you would like to view the dimensions in a different unit – without changing the Insert Unit – proceed as follows: Switch to the Edit tab on the Ribbon. Open the Dimension Styles dialog. Adjust the Unit for your current dimension style (available in both the free and PRO versions of pCon.planner).

If the option Always use this standard scaling unit is activated, the selected unit will be applied to the dimensions for 3D elements of unknown scale.

What is the difference between Program Settings and Document Properties?

22.08.2016 | pCon.planner - Program settings | 0 Comments |
VN:RO [1.9.20_1166]

The Settings for the program will remain persistent. They will be retained even after closing out of and reopening pCon.planner. They also have an effect when you create a new plan or open an existing one.

The Document Properties refer to the currently loaded plan. They are saved together with the plan and are then available the next time it is opened. You can also set different Document Properties for other plans simultaneously.

The walls in my plan are no longer connected. How do I fix this?

22.08.2016 | pCon.planner - Planning | 0 Comments |

During the planning process, you may accidently break the connection between two walls. When this happens, you will recognize that the corners are no longer aligned, but form a gap instead. Often times, you will continue to work on the plan before you realize that the walls are no longer connected. Because of this, the Undo button will not usually solve the problem.

When double clicking on a DWG file, the file opens with another program, instead of pCon.planner.

The most common cause of this problem is a missing file link. To open DWG files with pCon.planner, follow the instructions below.

The rendering times for different users vary in length on the same system. What options are there to fix this?

VN:RO [1.9.20_1166]
Rating: 1.0/5 (2 votes cast)

The differences in rendering times are often due to programs running in the background. This can vary for each user, as they may be demanding more or less of the operating system at one time.

Differences in rendering times can also be attributed to having the Windows option Run Program in Compatibility Mode enabled.

Why is the creation of a ceiling grid so time consuming?

Rating: 3.0/5 (1 vote cast)

In comparison with a simple ceiling, the construction of a ceiling grid requires more time.

The reason for this lies in a variety of parameters that aren’t taken into account when creating a normal ceiling. One example is the customization of the longitudinal and transverse sides of a segment. The larger a ceiling grid is, the more complex this calculation process will be.

Can animations be computed into compressed video files with pCon.planner?

04.03.2015 | Animation | 0 Comments |
VN:RO [1.9.20_1166]
Rating: 5.0/5 (1 vote cast)

With pCon.planner, animations can be created and converted into videos. When saving the Animation as a Video (*.avi file) you have the option of selecting a compression method in order to keep the video’s file size down. However, compression methods are not included in pCon.planner itself. The application does only access the video codecs that are installed on your operating system.

My graphics hardware matches the recommendations for pCon.planner but I am still getting rendering problems and crashes. What can I do to avoid this?

If you have a hybrid system combining an onboard graphics card and a dedicated 3D graphics card (like those from NVIDIA or ATI), you should check whether pCon.planner is actually working with the 3D graphics card and you should assign the 3D graphics processor to the design program if necessary.
