Videos and Slideshows

Once you have created an Animation, you can turn it into a video or a slideshow. The procedure is given in the subsections of this chapter.

Computing the Animation

Saving the Animation as a Video or Slideshow

Computing the Animation

Animations made during the design process must first be computed using the Media Maker, so that they can afterwards be saved as a video or slideshow.

First open Media Maker with a click on the button of the same name in the Presentation group, Presentation tab and then switch to the Animation tab.

Before a slideshow or a video can be generated, a computational process must take place for the individual images in the Animation selected, which is Animation 1 in the screenshot on the left. There are various settings possible. They are almost exactly the same as those for single frames.

1.First set the number of Frames per Second to be played in the Animation. 25 or 30 are good settings for a smooth video.

2.Set the Target Size (the resolution).

3.Decide whether you want your Animation to resemble photography or to be a realtime display type.

4.Proceed through the settings to establish your desired Animation. There are more details of the various possible parameters in the single frames section.

5.Now click on the Start button to start the computation process.

Please bear in mind that photorealistic animations may take a very long time to compute.

Saving the Animation as a Video or Slideshow

When the computation is complete, the Image Output dialogue will open (see next screenshot).

This is where you can save the Animation as a slideshow or as a video. Clicking on Save As opens the expected dialog (see screenshot below).

There is another way of saving your animations, beside this one using the Image Output dialog, and that is to use the Media Box. However, this will not be possible unless the relevant Animation has first been placed in the Media Box by clicking on the Add to Media Box button.

This is where to find out how to upload slideshows or videos onto the Internet using the Media Box.
