To move an object within a design there are two ways: one is the Move tool and the other the object interactor.

Move tool

The move tool offers three slightly differing types of move. For all of them the relation to the reference point is vital.

Type 1

1.Select the object.
2.Click onto one of the edges or surfaces. Drag the mouse to move the object. Or, alternatively, enter the relevant figures in relation to the reference point (see image).
3.A further mouse click or confirmation with Enter will fix the element at the selected point.

Type 2

1.Click on an edge or corner of an object which has not yet been marked, and hold down the mouse button while you begin to move the object.
2.As soon as you have started to move the object you can release the mouse button and move the object freely around the design.
3.Clicking again will now fix the element in the design. Again, the alternative is to use figures and units and confirm them with Enter.

Type 3

1.Select the object to be moved.
2.Select the Move item in the Tools group, Edit tab.
3.Position the cursor at any desired point in the design by clicking the mouse and then move the object to that point.
4.A further click will fix the element.

Object interactor

To use the interactor to move objects, it must first be activated. When you have selected an element in the design, the interactor will be displayed. The blue arrows or the small blue circle at the center can be used to move the object.

Interactor in default position

The default position of the interactor will always be related to the (currently visible) center of an object. Now follows a description of how to move an object if you have simply selected it and the interactor is at its default position.

1.Select the object.
2.By clicking on one of the blue arrows or on the central small blue circle you trigger the movement. Which of the arrows you use will decide the direction of movement according to the orientation of the interactor. However, if you use the central circle, you can move the object freely.

3.Now move your object to the point where you want it. There will always be a display of the distance moved shown in the lower-right corner of the viewport. This distance relates to the start point and can always be changed by entering figures on the keyboard.
4.A mouse click or confirmation with the Enter key will fix the object.

Moving the object interactor

The object interactor will always be displayed at the center of an object which has been selected. To enable you to move an object from a point other than the center, you can move the interactor itself. The small central circle is the means to this.

1.Click the blue circle and hold down the mouse button.
2.Push the interactor to wherever you want it. Now you can release the mouse button.
3.A further click will fix the interactor.

4.Now, you can move the object using the interactor at its new position.
5.A mouse click or confirmation with the Enter key will fix where the object has been moved to.
